The Joys of Traveling to Italy in the Fall

by Vicky - Spirit of Italy Tours on September 18th, 2014

Autumn in Italy is a feast for the eyes, and the palette. Breathtaking fall colors can be seen in the vineyards, olive groves and mountains and the mild temperature is ideal for traveling.  “Harvest Italia”, a seven-night/8-day tour to Tuscany, Italy, October 28 – November 4, 2014, is designed to coincide with the annual olive harvest which occurs each year during this time period.

Centered around the olive harvest, the customized itinerary affords tour guests time to hand-pick olives at Casa Falcioni, a 10-acre property in the central Tuscan town of Cavriglia. In addition to olive picking, the carefully selected activities include visits to outdoor markets; a journey to the famous Fiera Antiquaria di Arezzo – considered one of Italy’s finest open-air antique markets; a day in Firenze, winery tour, cooking demonstrations and much more.

It is my hope that my guests come back feeling that they enjoyed a personalized, ‘slice-of-life experience’ of the Tuscan countryside in autumn that they wouldn't have been able to cultivate on their own.

Veteran travel writer, Danielle Pergamont, writes about the joys of traveling to Italy in the off season here.
